For the Classic dimensional version, see Sonic the Hedgehog (Classic), or the video game universe, Sonic the Hedgehog on the SNN Wiki.

Sonic the Hedgehog is a blue anthropomorphic hedgehog who possesses the power of super speed. He uses this ability to defend his world from the forces of evil, most notably against the tyranny of evil scientist and longtime nemesis, Dr. Eggman. He and the doctor have fought for some time, with Sonic always thwarting every world-conquering scheme the "omelet dictator" has put forward.

History[]

Past[]

Sonic had been battling Dr. Eggman for some time. He previously faced the likes of Mecha Sonic, along with its transformed state, and the Hard Boiled Heavies. On another occasion, Sonic liberated Flicky Island from Dr. Eggman with the help of Miles "Tails" Prower and Knuckles.

He was also familiar with Fang the Sniper, Bean the Dynamite and Bark the Polar Bear.

Seasons of Chaos[]

Spring valley zone

At some point he recently joined Miles "Tails" Prower and Amy Rose on the hunt for the Chaos Emeralds.

The Sonic, Amy, and Tails of the Classic dimension visit this zone to search for the Chaos Emerald, destroying a ticktock badnik in the process. Sonic finds a chaos emerald easily in reach on a flower bed. However, before he picks up the emerald, it is snatched away by a blurry figure, which is then reveled to be Metal Sonic.

Requesting a boost from Amy, Amy used her hammer tro boost Sonic (after Sonic corrected her of her misinterpretation as a verbal boost). High in the air, Sonic was just about the reach the robot, when the robot activated his jet, leaving Sonic to fall. Closing his eyes, he expects to be saved by his amazing buddy, only to discover that he was saved by Knuckles, to the hedgehog's surprised.

When they are both on the ground, they reunite with Amy and Tails, where Knuckles began to explain why he was here. An animal found a chaos emerald only for it to be snatched by Metal Knuckles, the echidna attempted to chase it (after the robot had a head start by threatening the animals) and was able to trace it to the area, where he happened to have seen Sonic falling.

Sonic Learns to Drive[]

After learning that there is going to be a racing derby sponsored by Mr. Munch-ems, and therefore believing that the prize for said derby was some of their brand's Chili dogs. Sonic volunteered to do some driving lessons in order to enter the derby. He was greeted by Kip the Capybara.

Dr Eggman's Birthday[]

On Dr. Eggman’s birthday, the Hard boiled heavies attempted to lead the badniks on an all out attack on Sonic on their own volition without Eggman. When Eggman discovers them absent from the base, he hastily catches up with them before they battle Sonic. He then orders them sternly to stand down. When Eggman was about to depart, Sonic wished him a happy birthday, who had eavesdropping Eggman.

Amy's New Hobby[]

At some point previously, Sonic and Tails had an adventure together taking out one of Dr. Eggman’s bases.

Sonic was one of the many people who were shown Amy's comics, and liked them.

Going off the Rails[]

Tails would pilot the Tornado to Flicky Island with Sonic, for the purpose of a vacation. Upon landing the plane on the island, they were puzzled by the desertedness. It was only when they found train tracks and large crystal that Tails realized the cause of these mysterious happenings. Tails explained to Sonic how these are the telltale signs that Witchcart and her goons were behind this. He further explained by telling Sonic about his own adventure on another island, where he faced the villain and defeated her.

Pre-Eggman War[]

Sonic vs Egg Viper

Sonic defeats the Egg Viper.

Sonic had been battling Dr. Eggman for some time. Their earliest known conflict included a battle between Sonic and Eggman who was in his Egg Viper mech, resulting in Sonic's victory.[8] (StH: #1)

Another encounter involved the Space Colony ARK, in which Eggman used its Eclipse Cannon to blow up a part of the moon in order to show the world the power that he wielded. These events lead to Sonic teaming up with Miles "Tails" Prower, Knuckles the Echidna, Rouge the Bat, Shadow the Hedgehog, and even Dr. Eggman himself to save the world.[9] (StH: #5, #6)

Sonic beats Metal Sonic

Sonic after defeating Metal Sonic.

Later, another battle happened between Sonic and Neo Metal Sonic - the powered up form of Metal Sonic - who was impersonating Eggman. This time, the fake Eggman was piloting the Egg Emperor mech, but Sonic and his friends defeated the faker, causing him to revert back to normal.[10] (StH: #1, #7)

When the Black Arms invaded, Sonic was part of the side fighting against the villainous extra terrestrials, who were eventually defeated.[11] (StH: #6)

Egg Dragoon

Sonic facing off against Eggman in the Egg Dragoon.

Eggman would return to his evil ways once again. Sonic faced off against Eggman in his Egg Dragoon and defeated the villain.[12] (StH: #1, #5)

Yacker and Sonic

Yacker and Sonic.

Later, Eggman built an interstellar amusement park that used the power of the Wisps. Sonic freed their world, Planet Wisp, from Eggman's control and saved the kind creatures, putting a stop to Eggman and destroying his park. During this adventure, Sonic befriended a White Wisp named Yacker.[13] (StH: #3)

Following this, Eggman discovered the Time Eater and used its powers to mess with time, but Sonic winded up defeating them and saving the day.[14] (StH: #5)

Sonic would later follow Eggman to the Lost Hex for another adventure in which he had to save the world.[15] (StH: #3)

Death Egg Robot Forces

Sonic facing off against Eggman in the Death Egg Robot.

More recently, after getting ahold of a mysterious artifact known as the Phantom Ruby, Dr. Eggman defeated and captured Sonic and conquered the majority of the planet. Thanks to the help of the Resistance (formed by Sonic's friends and allies and comprised of many more soldiers), other allies, and a past version of himself from an alternate reality, Sonic was freed and helped to stop Dr. Eggman's conquest and save the world from his clutches. During this adventure, Sonic had to fight a Phantom of Metal Sonic instead of the real thing, as the real Metal Sonic was undergoing an upgrade into Neo Mtal Sonic.[16][17] This ended in a confrontation between Sonic and Eggman, the latter piloting his latest Death Egg Robot. (StH: #1)

Fallout![]

Sonic and Tails fight Egg Hammers

Sonic and Tails defeat an Egg Hammer.

After Sonic managed to defeat Eggman in their previous encounter, the doctor disappeared. However, his robot forces remained, and so Sonic traveled the world to help stop the robot uprisings. When Sonic appeared in a town to help fend off a Badnik attack, he came across civilians in need, one of which attempted to fend off the attacking Badniks to save a group of civilians, but was easily knocked down by an Egg Pawn despite wielding a Wispon. Sonic appeared just in time to save the brave young man and commenting that he knew someone who put a Wispon to good use, which was a nod to one of the Resistance members during Eggman's previous attack. Sonic then ran by the town's militia and told them of the man he just saved and that he needed their aid. Sonic then came across some civilians trying to escape from some Moto Bugs, and he defeated them with ease. Sonic then started to have a little bit of trouble against some Egg Hammers, but Tails appeared and saved him just in time. The two teamed up and took down all of the robots with a mix of attacks, which included the Spin Dash and Rolling Combo. After Sonic and Tails started overcoming the horde of robots, the robots attempted to escape the town, so while Sonic took care of the remaining Egg Hammer, Tails closed one of the town's gates just in time to prevent the robots from leaving, which caused them to crash into the gate and get destroyed. Afterwards, Tails noted that the attack seemed coordinated, which was unlike previous Badnik attacks from other areas. When Sonic suggested it might be Dr. Eggman, Tails did not believe so, as Eggman was known for making sure they knew he had returned before attacking. Sonic decided to continue doing what he had been doing, but Tails expressed his worry over the thought of Sonic losing again, to which the blue hedgehog promised to be more careful. He also suggested that Tails follow him just like old times. Initially, Tails wanted to, but then he decided it was more important to help the town that they had just saved rebuild and recover. Sonic commented on Tails' decision by calling him a class act and stating that they would bash robots again some other time, to which Tails agreed. Unbeknownst to the two of them, a Flapper watched Sonic travel away from the town, which had someone watching the visual feedback and planning their next moves. (StH: #1)

Death Crab and Sonic

Sonic and a Death Crab about to battle.

At the neighboring town, Sonic brought down a Death Crab before it could cause any major damage. Amy Rose then arrived and helped finish the Death Crab off. She explained that she heard about Sonic and Tails' latest actions and came by to find Sonic to present him with a request: rejoin the Resistance. The Resistance had their hands full as there were many leftover Badniks from the last major battle against Eggman that were randomly attacking citizens. However, much to Amy's dismay, Sonic declined her offer as, since Tails had theorized that someone was controlling the Badniks due to their more recent organized attacks, he wanted to find out who was controlling the Badniks on his own. (StH: #2)

Amy admires Sonic

Sonic states his resolve to Amy.

Sonic and Amy soon discovered that the Death Crab was just a decoy so that more Badniks could invade from the west. While Sonic thinned them out, Amy rallied Wispon-wielding villagers to help destroy the Badniks that reached the town square. Sonic and Amy then continued to destroy more Badniks and find their source, which consisted off Egg Pawns and Egg Walkers. During this time, Amy kept asking Sonic to join the Resistance. Soon, Sonic and Amy discovered a Blowfish Transporter unloading many more Badniks at the edge of the town. With their Croquette Bomber combination technique, the duo took out the Blowfish Transporter. Afterwards, Amy came to terms with Sonic's decision and let him be on his own. Regardless, she requested for him to check on Knuckles the Echidna in a nearby town as she had not heard from him since. Accepting the mission, Sonic set off to find Knuckles, not noticing the Flapper watching from a distance. (StH: #2)

Sonic and Knuckles Defeat Rough and Tumble

Sonic and Knuckles defeat Rough and Tumble.

As Sonic arrived at the next town, which was a hub for Wispon distribution, he found that Knuckles the Echidna had already dealt with the Badniks that had been attacking the town. Knuckles explained that the town's Wispon shipments had dwindled, and he had come to find out why. The two entered the town and found its citizens in a panic. They were told that all the town's Wispons had been stolen by a duo of mercenaries that had, before the war ended, driven Eggman's forces away and saved the town, only to then conquer the town and keep its arsenal to themselves. With this in mind, Sonic and Knuckles continued to the town's supply depot-turned-fortress to defeat the mercenaries. There, they encountered a group of captive Wisps being hoarded. Soon, Sonic and Knuckles confronted the mercenaries, who introduced themselves as Rough the Skunk and Tumble the Skunk. A battle ensued between the four, which seemed to be evenly matched until Sonic called upon the help of the Wisps that were trapped within the Wispons that Rough and Tumble had stolen. They broke out of the Wispons and allowed Sonic and Knuckles to easily defeat Rough and Tumble, who were promptly arrested and hauled off to jail. With the town now free, Sonic and Knuckles began partying with the townspeople. (StH: #3)

Inside Buzz Bomber Battleship

Sonic boards the Buzz Bomber battleship.

Continuing his journey, Sonic arrived at the next town where a Buzz Bomber battleship was deploying a stream of Badniks to attack the town. As he entered the town, he reconsidered Amy's invitation to rejoin the Resistance, but pushed that aside. He soon after noticed a ring-tailed lemur fighting the Badniks as well, who introduced herself to him as Tangle the Lemur. Together, they fought the Badniks until they got cornered by a large group of them. Fortunately, Blaze the Cat appeared, and helped them tear through the rest of the Badniks' ranks, including the giant Buzz Bomber. Once the attack had ended, Sonic introduced Blaze and Tangle to each other, and asked Blaze what brought her to his world. She explained she had come to prevent a "terrible event" on his world, as per the Sol Emeralds' directions. Sonic thought she referred to Eggman's global takeover until Tangle brought up the possibility that the organized Badniks could be a sign of something worse coming their way, which made Blaze stay until she understood why she was there. After bidding farewell to Blaze and Tangle, who went to calm the fires in town, Sonic continued his search for the Badniks' ringleader. (StH: #4)

The Fate of Dr. Eggman[]

Sonic Meets Mr Tinker

Sonic meets "Mr. Tinker".

Soon, Sonic was contacted by the Chaotix of the Chaotix Detective Agency, who needed his help. Espio the Chameleon escorted Sonic to a village, but not before being attacked by Anton and Hoverby badniks. After defeating the robots, Espio explained to Sonic that after receiving an anonymous tip, they had found Dr. Eggman in the town. Upon arriving, Sonic expected the town to be in danger, but to his surprise, Charmy Bee introduced him to Dr. Eggman, who was suffering from amnesia and living peacefully in the village as Mr. Tinker. Sonic didn't believe that the doctor was really suffering from amnesia. After questioning him and being told by Vector the Crocodile that they had been thoroughly interrogating him and observing him for a couple of days and that he remembered nothing. Sonic claimed that he was still dangerous, and Vector said that that was why they needed Sonic's help, since they did not know what to do with him. Sonic began talking with the Chaotix and the village head about what to do with Eggman since it did not seem right to penalize him now that he was a good man with no recollection of his evil deeds. Shortly after, a horde of badniks showed up, which consisted of more Antons and Hoverby. Suspecting Eggman to be behind them, Sonic confronted him while the Chaotix faced the Badniks, only to find a scared Eggman protecting the local children. Convinced now that Eggman was a new man, Sonic helped the Chaotix beat the Badniks. Telling the Chaotix about Eggman, the group decided to leave him to his new life. After properly greeting Eggman, Sonic prepared to leave, but then noticed Eggman mention Eggman Land. Immediately after, Shadow the Hedgehog and Rouge the Bat showed up to destroy Eggman. (StH: #5)

Sonic dodges Shadow

Sonic and Shadow fighting.

He tried to convince the duo that even if Eggman mentioned Eggman Land, he totally lost his memory and now was helping the residents but Shadow thought that having amnesia didn't make him less dangerous. Finally the two hedgehogs started battling themselves. During the fight, Sonic remembered to Shadow that Eggman helped them saving the world two times: first, stopping the Space Colony ARK from precipitate on the planet; second, he fought back the invasion of the Black Arms. After that, Shadow asked Sonic if he had forgot that the doctor made him suffer and tried to eliminate him plenty of times but Sonic eventually told him that if Eggman couldn't be forgiven, Shadow would have been the same, sice he tried to threat the whole world. Then the hedgehogs returned to the village and forced "Mr. Tinker" to show them Eggman Land, only to discover that is only an incomplete amusement park for the local kids. Mr. Tinker gets forgiven for the mistake and Sonic left the villlage. Meanwhile, the unknown villain prepares to join the Egg Fleet to move on to the next phase of his master plan. However, he is shown to be the possibly actual Dr. Eggman. (StH: #6)

Neo introduction

Sonic witnessing Neo Metal Sonic's reveal.

In order to get some information, Sonic reunited with Tails and used the Tornado. While traveling, they spotted a battleship of the Egg Fleet. After grabbing the Miles Electric, Sonic enters the ship and finds Eggman, but as Sonic knows he had already met the real Dr. Eggman, asks this Eggman who he really is. The mysterious ringleader reveals he was actually Neo Metal Sonic disguised as Eggman. Neo was supposed to be the doctor's greatest weapon in the final battle, but he was completed too late. Since he gained his creator's genius, vision, and drive, Neo decided to take over the Eggman Empire and conquer the world for Eggman as him. Sonic realizes that this is the reason that he had to fight a Phantom of Metal Sonic during the War instead of the real thing. Sonic engages a duel with him and a group of Egg Pawns, some of them equipped with Egg Spears, but Neo is able to copy people's abilities and bio-data. After threatening Sonic, Neo continued traveling. Sonic told everything to Knuckles and Amy at the Resistance HQ, and they decided to search in Eggman's bases to discover and end what scheme Neo was plotting. (StH: #7)

Picky Freed from Theta

Sonic defeats E-107 Theta and frees a Picky from inside it.

Sonic infiltrated one of Eggman's old bases and fought some Spinas. He met with Silver the Hedgehog, who saved him from a giant Spina variant. Silver had come back from his future to bring back normal life. Unknown to them, they were followed by a figure who was recognized as the "Guardian Angel"- a heroine who had saved Silver's life more than once and was sighted by multiple units of the Resistance but never joined the army. The two hedgehogs continued their research and finally met the Guardian Angel, who wielded a particular Wispon. She presented herself as Whisper the Wolf and helped them fight E-107 Theta. Silver used a computer, browsed the Eggnet, and found out that Neo Metal Sonic took over Angel Island and the Master Emerald. Sonic contacted the Resistance HQ and alerted them to call everyone. (StH: #8)

Battle for Angel Island[]

At Resistance HQ, Sonic and the Resistance's allies were informed of what he and Silver had discovered at the Eggman base that they had infiltrated. As Neo Metal Sonic had conquered Angel Island and turned it into a flying fortress as well as secured the Master Emerald for himself, Amy laid out a plan on how they could liberate the island. Blaze offered to confront Neo Metal Sonic as Burning Blaze, which Sonic was all for. However, Tails shot down that plan, deeming it too risky if Blaze had to face Neo Metal Sonic's powers. In the end, Sonic and Knuckles were chosen to confront Neo Metal Sonic instead and secure the Master Emerald while the others were to focus on breaking the Egg Fleet's control over the island. (StH: #9)

Sonic and Knuckles encounter Neo

Sonic and Knuckles encounter Neo Metal Sonic.

On their way to Angel Island in one of the Resistance's battleships, Sonic thanked Whisper for joining them on this mission before paying Tails a visit in the captain's nest. As the two friends were having a moment, the Egg Fleet began bombarding the ship. Using their Extreme Gears, Blue Star and Red Rock, Sonic (using Blue Star) and Knuckles (using Red Rock) left the crashing ship and headed towards the Master Emerald's shrine, which had been turned into a fortification. Inside it, the two heroes encountered Neo Metal Sonic, who was sitting on a throne that was fashioned atop the Master Emerald. When they could successfully attack him, Neo Metal Sonic used the Master Emerald to transform into Super Neo Metal Sonic. While Sonic was undeterred, Super Neo Metal Sonic went on the offensive. Sonic tried to distract Super Neo Metal Sonic while Knuckles went for the Master Emerald, but both him and Knuckles were unable to do so and were defeated by the robot. Shadow then showed up and attacked Super Neo Metal Sonic with a Chaos Spear. This winded up forcing Super Neo Metal Sonic to revert back to his Neo Metal Sonic form. Sonic stopped Shadow as he was concerned that Neo Metal Sonic would copy Shadow's powers, but Neo Metal Sonic revealed that he had just finished copying Shadow's bio-data, which, combined with Sonic's bio-data and the Master Emerald's power, would let him assume his final form. While Knuckles and Shadow tried in vain to stop Neo Metal Sonic, Sonic convinced them to evacuate the stronghold once the structure started to fold into Neo Metal Sonic. The ground soon after began to rumble and Knuckles noted that the Master Emerald had been cut off from Angel Island, resulting in the floating island falling. Meanwhile, Neo Metal Sonic grew into a form more monstrous than the last called Master Overlord and demanded that Sonic bow to him. (StH: #9, #10)

Getting attacked by Master Overlord, Sonic heard from Knuckles that Burning Blaze could not help them. He, Knuckles, and Shadow were then grabbed and flown away by Master Overlord, who wanted them to see him destroy their allies, who were onboard an Egg Fleet battleship. It was then that Sonic came up with a plan. If they could get Master Overlord closer to Angel Island and rip the Master Emerald out of him, they could deprive the robot of his power source and save the island. When the trio managed to escape Master Overlord's grasp, Sonic and Shadow focused on attacking Master Overlord's wings while Knuckles went for the Master Emerald. Sonic also distracted Master Overlord by taunting him long enough for Sonic's allies, whom Knuckles had relayed Sonic's plan to, to swarm Master Overlord and help drive him towards Angel Island. During the battle, Sonic got shaken off Master Overlord, but was rescued by Silver with his psychokinesis. Knuckles subsequently got the Master Emerald away from Master Overlord after Tails rammed the robot with his battleship. Knuckles brought it back to Angel Island, bringing the island back into the sky while Master Overlord powered down to his normal form as Metal Sonic. Down on Angel Island, Sonic looked for Tails, who was safe. With Angel Island now back to normal and Metal Sonic offline, Sonic and Tails celebrated their victory. (StH: #11)

Sonic later had Tails partially repair Metal Sonic so he could talk with the robot. Upon waking up, Metal Sonic threw himself at Sonic, only to collapse in his arms, unable to fight. Sonic explained everything and proposed a truce and the chance for a new life since Eggman was out of the picture. Metal Sonic, however, rejected Sonic's offer and fled. Although disappointed, Sonic decided not to follow him out of respect for his choice. Later, Sonic made several rounds around Angel Island and informed Knuckles that the island seemed intact. He offered Knuckles to join the others on the trip back to Resistance HQ in the Egg Fleet battleship that Tails was repairing, but Knuckles refused, having decided to remain and guard the Master Emerald. When Sonic then asked him about the future of Resistance, Knuckles decided to dissolve the organization. Sonic then went to the battleship, where he met Amy. He informed her about the Resistance's disbandment and then ran to Tangle and Whisper when the Chaotix demanded payment. Tangle expressed her excitement about her new life to Sonic, but Whisper decided to remain silent. Sonic decided to give the latter some space. He then met Silver and Blaze, who were both holding off their trips home for the time being. This made Sonic note that this was a chance to have more adventures together. Sonic later met Rouge, whom he asked her next plans and asked to thank Shadow for him. Sonic then visited Tails on the captain's bridge and congratulated him on the fast repair of the ship and another successful adventure as the battleship took off. (StH: #12)

Jet Set Tornado and Sonic Fan Club[]

Sonic would later pilot the Tornado for Tails to test the biplane's new engine. During the flight however, the heroes stumbled upon a Stealth Balkiry who had stolen supplies from a Resistance warehouse. Sonic and Tails subsequently chased the Badnik to a volcanic island. There, they directed the robot so that it was hit by lava fired from a geyser. As it then dropped the stolen supplies, Sonic destroyed it in midair, and was caught by Tails on the Tornado's wing. Sonic proceeded to thank his friend and let him take the helm, stating that landing the plane is too slow for him.

Later, Sonic dropped by the Sonic Fan Club's first meeting and destroyed the Egg Pawn bothering them before taking off again.

Infection[]

Shortly after the recapture of Angel Island Sonic is taking a moment to reminisce over the past few days, this does not last long however, as Tails informs him of a letter that mysteriously appeared in his workshop that appears to have been written by Dr, Eggman. Sonic and Tails begin to worry about the fate of Mr. Tinker and head off towards Windmill Village. Upon arriving they find the town empty, save for Elder Scruffy who has been tied to a tree. Once freed Scruffy explains that Mr. Tinker was kidnapped a week ago by two mysterious individuals. These individuals are shortly revealed to be Rough and Tumble, now sporting Eggman's inventions. Following a discussion about Rough and Tumbles ability to rhyme a battle ensues and sonic questions them about where they're new tech came from and who broke them out of prison. The combined onslaught begins to overwhelm Sonic until Tails returns from securing the remaining villagers. Together they destroy Rough and Tumbles new weapons and easily defeat them afterwards. Before they could get the information they wanted however a portal opened and took Rough and Tumble. Sonic and Tails are confused and come to the conclusion that either Dr Eggman is back or Mr Tinker is being tricked into building weapons. Tails stays in Windmill village to clean up the damage from the battle and Sonic leaves to further investigate whoever is behind this. (StH: #13)

Sonic and Silver travel to Frozen Peak after Silver was visited by a mysterious disappearing individual with information on an Eggman base. Seeing a similarly to the letter Tails received, Sonic deciding its a good enough lead and proceed to sneak up on the base. Upon further observation several badniks are seen carrying supplies through a portal. Deciding their hunch was correct they plan to attack quickly before they are knocked down by a now fully repaired Metal Sonic. Metal Sonic grabs Silver by the foot and tosses him away leaving Sonic and Metal Sonic to battle while Sonic questions how he got repaired. The brief fight is interrupted by Silver, who grabs the distracted robot with his psychokinesis. Metal Sonic is only held for a moment as a portal opens beneath him freeing him from Silvers grasp. Metal Sonic reemerges from a portal next to Dr. Starline, who Silver points out is the one who gave him the information. Sonic also remarks on the similarly between the portals and the one used to retrieve Rough and Tumble. When questioned by Sonic, Dr. Starline begins to monologue about Sonic being the only one capable of standing up to Dr. Eggman and this encounter was orchestrated to be a test of his own abilities. Sonic unimpressed, but relived to be getting straight answers asks Dr. Starline what happened to Mr. Tinker to which he is told that he no longer exists. Upon hearing this, Sonic charges towards Starline but can't get enough traction on the snow and is tackled into the trees by Metal Sonic before he can reach him. Sonic is then kicked into Silver while he attempts to grab the robot again. Deciding hes too fast to grab directly Silver creates a psychokinetic bubble around the robot and tosses him away. With Metal Sonic taken care of the two hedgehogs move directly towards an annoyed but undeterred Dr. Starline. Sonic and Silver attempt to attack him directly but keep being flung into his warp portals and Sonic is nearly sent down a cliff before Silver comes to his aid. They notice Starlines last portal has sent them to the other side of the mountain far from the Egg base. Silver suggests he fly them back but Sonic insists he simple hold onto him with his psychokinesis while he ran back. The two hedgehogs make it back just as Metal Sonic returns to Dr. Eggman through a portal. Sonic tackles Dr. Starline who is surprised Sonic caught up with him so quickly. Grabbing Starline by the collar Sonic demands details on Eggman to which Starline concedes telling them the code to a secured vault. Silver goes into the base alone while Sonic further questions Dr. Starline about what Eggman has planning. Dr. Starline then reveals that Dr. Eggman is elsewhere planning something "breathtaking". He also reveals that the code he gave Silver was the detonation code for a bomb inside the vault. Panicked, Sonic lets go of Starline and rushes inside the base to save Silver. Thankfully he arrives in time and Silver is able to put a shield up. Before collapsing Silver tells Sonic he know owes him two. Later on at restoration HQ Sonic is with Amy and a recovering Silver as they explain what happened with Dr. Starline. Sonic and Amy leave Silver to rest as they discuss what Eggman could be up to, Amy noting that the world had barely begun recovering from his last attack and they can't let something like it happen again. Sonic agrees but can't think of where to start looking for clues. Amy suggests hacking into the Eggnet using one of his old unguarded bases to which sonic agrees and insists taking Amy along. She initially protests citing how much work she has to do for the restoration but Sonic convinces her to think about it as a "working vacation". Sonic takes Amy into his arms and they speed off. (StH: #14)

Sonic and Amy arrive at Echo Mine and begin to travel down a ruined elevator shaft. Sonic remarks on the level destruction, wondering if it was the location of a devastating fight. Amy confirms his suspicions and explains that this site was one of the resistances biggest counter-attacks before Sonic returned. She also solemnly notes how many good people they lost that day. Sonic reassures her that it was worth it and they'll save the world from whatever Eggman has planned next. The two soon find the computer room and thankfully discover the back up power still works. Amy logs into the Eggnet and finds the most recent files which contain schematics to a vessel resembling the Ark with information about payload distribution. Before they can find out more however the base begins to rumble and the computer is destroyed by a drilling machine piloted by Rough and Tumble. After Sonic heckles the two about their inability to rhyme which results in the skunk brothers arguing. Amy wonders allowed about how they took over a whole town before attempting to break the drill with her hammer. Amy's hammer has no effect and Sonic picks her up to beat a hasty retreat. The tunnels eventually leading them to a refuse pit where they trick the brothers into not being able to turn around. With Rough and Tumble panicking Sonic and Amy are able to destroy the drill and send it down the pit just as the skunks were able to bail. Without any options Rough and Tumble resort to using the backpacks Dr Eggman had gave them which dump metallic liquid all over them. Sonic and Amy look on confused as the skunk brothers scramble to get the stuff off them. Eventually Rough and Tumble succumb to the liquid becoming metallic and silent. Amy likens their appearance to robots while Sonic says they're "something worse". The fighting resumes with Sonic attempting his usual banter but getting no response from the transformed skunk brothers. After Amy likens their condition to being completely soulless Sonic decides to call them zombie robots, soon shortening it to "zombots". When Amy attempts to hit Rough her hammer produces a hole in his left side. Amy is momentarily apologetic until Roughs arm suddenly regenerates. Sonic then attempts to hit Tumble multiple times resulting in similar holes that are instantly regenerated. Unfortunately in the process Sonic got the metallic liquid on his hand and face. Sonic tells Amy not to let them touch her and wanting to wrap this up quickly and risk no one else's health pushes both brothers down the pit. Sonic admits it was slightly more brutal than he'd liked but the infection on him is spreading quickly. (StH: #15)

Crisis City[]

While Vector seemed to be in trouble, Sonic arrived as fast as he could. The crocodile asks him if he should cough on him with his infection but Sonic tells him that as long as he doesn't touch him he's fine. He only has to run to reduce the virus, but it does not disappear completely. The two fought alone. Sonic saves a few villagers and tells them to go down the stairs. He saw the rescue shuttle then rejoicing, but his pain returned when he saw the virus returning at a mad pace to his body, when he had to save people, he would just become a threat. So he started running faster and faster and wiped out most of the metal viruses. Back at the catering shuttle, Sonic finds Espio there who was holding Vector and the chameleon explains to him that Charmy had gone to the city, all alone and that he had to be found, but if he went there, Vector would also be infected. Sonic told them not to worry and ran to the Crisis City to find him, adding that he would do his best to find him. (#17)

Sonic Profile 2

Sonic the Hedgehog

Sonic is a tall and thin hedgehog with blue fur and patches of peach-colored skin or fur on his face, arms, and belly. He has six long spines on the back of his head and two more on his back behind his shoulders. His eyes are green. His usual attire consists of white gloves, and his iconic pair of red sneakers with white cuffs around the ankles and white straps across the top, the latter held down by a golden buckle on each foot.

Personality[]

Sonic playfully boasting

Always prepared to put his life on the line to protect others, be they friends or civilians, Sonic is a carefree spirit and a daredevil at heart with a strong sense of justice, who, unlike most, finds fun in fighting and thwarting evil, primarily in the form of Dr. Eggman and his empire. Despite his usual egotistical and sometimes lazy demeanor, Sonic's defining traits have always been his pure heart of gold and his utter dauntlessness in the face of danger.

Owning to his free-spirited way of life, Sonic values freedom above all else and strives to live his life according to his own rules rather than the standards of those around him or for the sake of heroism and duty. As such, despite his loyalty to his friends and allies, Sonic is typically unwilling to commit to anything that requires him to act primarily under the authority of others, including his friends, believing that he knows what is best for himself.

Abilities[]

Wall Climb

Sonic's mastery over his speed allows him to even run up walls.

Sonic's trademark ability is his super speed. He can travel up to speeds surpassing Mach 1, which is at the blistering speed of about 768 mph, and he utilizes this in hand-to-hand combat, giving him quick reflexes. He is also very agile, being capable of performing extreme acrobatic feats. He also has incredible jumping skills: he can set off with enough power to bend thick metal armor and go hundreds of meters into the air with a single jump. While his top speed is unknown, glimpses of Sonic's prowess are shown in his tendency to routinely scale vertical walls, effortlessly knock down enemies in his path, run over water, and plow straight through foes. Sonic can also use the Boost to not only increase his speed but also barge through obstacles in his path.

Top Kick

Sonic incorporates kicks into his fighting style.

Sonic has demonstrated complete mastery of his speed at any level. Not only can he run at a maximum tilt in straight lines, but also through sharp turns with full control over his momentum, and without recklessly crashing into unintended targets. As far as stamina goes, Sonic's is seemingly limitless as he is never winded from running.

Sonic's core offensive maneuver is the Spin Attack, a technique where he curls into a concussive ball or cutting disk and directs himself at his targets. With it, Sonic can shred or burrow through just about any substance given enough speed, and perform moves like the Spin Dash, Homing Attack, and Rolling Combo, though the last one requires the aid of his friend Tails.

Tails carries Sonic

Sonic and Tails

Tails is Sonic’s oldest and closest friend, to the point that the two can be considered surrogate brothers. The pair have demonstrated near-perfect synchronization in battle whenever paired up, with Tails always being prepared to give Sonic a lift using his flight ability or both combining their Spin Attack to form a stronger Spin Dash. Also, whenever Tails worries for Sonic's well-being, Sonic is quick to give his buddy emotional support and assures him that he'll be fine, even offering Tails to join him "just like old times."

Amy Rose[]

Amy is another close friend of Sonic’s, and the only one who’s known to harbour deeper feelings toward him, feelings that she never tries to hide around him, which often makes him uneasy. Sonic cares very much for Amy, though it’s unclear whether he returns her romantic feelings. Nonetheless, he has a good relationship with her, and with most of his friends, she can be subject to his jokes and teasing.

Blaze the Cat[]

Sonic and Blaze

Sonic and Blaze

Sonic and Blaze have known each other for some time, as seen by Sonic's introduction of Blaze to Tangle. The two seem to get along well with Sonic claiming he could count on Blaze. In addition, they seem to coordinate with each other well in combat.

Dr. Eggman[]

Sonic and Dr. Eggman have spent years as archenemies, due to the latter's constant attempts at planetary domination, which Sonic always thwarts, causing him to become a thorn in Eggman's side. The two have battled for the fate of the world under various circumstances, from Eggman's imprisonment of various types of wildlife to the planet's surface being shattered by the Chaos Energy Cannon.

Recently, in an unexpected turn of events, Eggman managed to catch Sonic off-guard and imprison him, allowing him to easily conquer most of the world, though his reign ended when the Resistance freed Sonic and helped him defeat Eggman six months later. When Sonic and Eggman next met, the latter had taken up residence in an idyllic village and was seemingly amnesiac, having no recollection of his past life. Initially, Sonic was left conflicted and doubtful about Eggman's amnesia being genuine, but later decided to restart his relationship with the doctor on friendlier terms after witnessing him in fear from an attack by his own Badniks, which Sonic and the Chaotix stopped.

Knuckles the Echidna[]

Knuckles is both a close friend and rival to Sonic, with the two of them being no stranger to butting heads over a disagreement at worst, or partaking in banter with each other at best. Despite this, the two put a lot of trust in one another's abilities and work near perfectly to get the job done.

Tangle the Lemur[]

Sonic and Tangle

Sonic and Tangle have been described as kindred spirits due to having similar traits to each other[18], namely their skill and enjoyment in battling Badniks, as well as the confidence they share in doing so. Even after meeting for the first time, the two were able to synchronize with each other in their battle against multiple Badniks, including battling together with Blaze the Cat, who Tangle had also just met during said battle. Although their personalities seem to differ slightly, their enjoyment in fighting is something that they share together.
