Wispon

The Cube Wispon.

The Cube Wispon, also known as the Cube Hammer, is a Wispon that is both themed after and utilizes the power of the Blue Wisp.

History

The Imprisoned Planet

At some point in the past, the Blue Wisps, along with other fellow Wisps, and their planet came under the threat of Dr. Eggman. Fortunately, they were saved by Sonic the Hedgehog. Afterward, as thanks for saving their race and planet, a bunch of Blue Wisps and other fellow Wisps settled down on Sonic's world where they helped out the residents of Sonic’s world whenever they could, the Wispons being one such way of helping in particular.[1] (StH: #3)

Fallout

Wielding Cube Wispon

A town citizen wielding a Cube Hammer.

When a Badnik force attacked a town, a resident used a Cube Hammer in an effort to try fighting them. The resident, however, got overwhelmed, but thankfully Sonic showed up on time to defeat the Badniks and get the resident back on his feet with his Cube Wispon in hand. (StH: #1)

Appearance

Modeled after the Blue Wisp, the Cube Wispon is a Wispon in the shape of a hammer. It has a cube-shaped blue head with a gray metal plate covering the front and top, and it possesses a hexagon-shaped yellow face. Also, on the head's sides it has three white circles aligned horizontally along the middle. Also, on the back of its head, it has yellow groves. Lastly, a short black handle with a yellow pommel extends from the bottom of the head.

Abilities

The Cube Wispon's signature function is its ability to hold Blue Wisps inside it and harness their energies to power itself. Without a Blue Wisp inside it, the Cube Wispon is useless.

Background Information

  • The Cube Wispon was based on the weapon of the same name in the Sonic the Hedgehog video game series, where it first appeared in Sonic Forces. The description in an official video on YouTube also referred to it as the Cube Hammer. It was unnamed in the comic, but its name is considered tier 2 canon by this site's canon policy, as it does not contradict already established canon from tier 1.
